4 Live Score Video Performance
The Firehouse JT vibe check; intimate, welcoming and down-to-earth.
Upon our late arrival to the 4 Live Score event, I was immediately engaged in the performance that had already begun, on time. A film was being projected onto three large interior walls of a metal garage as each sound artist took turns performing their impromptu score.
Local musical duo, wife and husband, Patrica and Nicolas Vernhas held court in the center of the space. Nicolas, a seasoned music producer, created the stimulating videoscapes onto which the performers could project their sonic intuitions.
Ambient crescendos to abstract heavy metal sounds were heard on a variety of instruments played. Alongside drummer Dan Brown, Patricia Vernhas accompanied her husband’s pounding, concluding score with sound bowls.
All the way down the Winters dirt road, the Firehouse JT is giving off some desert Red Cat feels. Looking forward to more events curated by Ethan Primason in this community based multidisciplinary visual and performing arts space. Follow @thefirehousejt for events schedule.
